JoyCut were formed in Bologna, Italy, and following their first release in 2007, the sound was ready for a wider audience. After long seasons of international touring and activity, they signed a publishing deal with Sugarmusic, to consolidate the bands achievements and to work towards deeper international engagement for their music.
Their last album PiecesOfUsWereLeftOnTheGround (2014) led to new heights, proof of this is the long lasting life of the album, supported by a tour of over 300 dates across Italy, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Iceland, East and West coast USA, Canada and Asia.
JoyCut have also created exciting tracks through collaborations with Grammy award winning producer Jason Halbert (Kelly Clarkson) and young American Artist Kennedy Nöel a.k.a Krigarè.
JoyCut was in the Top5 of ETEP 2015: Europavox (FR), Monkey Week & MMVV (ES), Co2penhagen Festival (DK), SXSW 2014, 2015 (US), CMJ (US), Culture Collide (US), Les Nuits (BE), Eurosonic (NL), Rock For People (CZ), Tallinn Music Week (EE), Reeperbahn Festival (DE), Liverpool Sound City (UK), Galapagai (LT), Festival Indigènes (FR), Chorus Festival (FR), Loftas Fest (LT), I-Day (IT) and more …
They composed the official anthem representing Italy during the tournament (bands and artists were selected from each of the 32 countries); the anthems were launched by VISA & F.I.F.A for the 2014 Brazil soccer World Cup. JoyCut's music was also featured on criticslly acclaimed tv series dedicated to famous Italian literature, produced by SKY ARTE HD.
With the digital mantra: #JoyCutNeverStops and following a residency at Clermont- Ferrand's (FR) Coopérative de Mai and imaGO’s studios, JoyCut are just about to conclude their extensive run of touring, and hit the studio again to create their fourth album, ahead of a spring 2018 release.
In 2016 the band supported The Chemical Brothers.
