NEGRAMARO HIT TAORMINA FOR THE ANNUAL “NASTRI D’ARGENTO” AWARDS. THE BAND WILL RECEIVE A PRIZE FOR THE ORIGINAL SCORE TO “VALLANZASCA – GLI ANGELI DEL MALE”

Negramaro are soon to join Valeria Golino, Riccardo Scamarcio, Giulio Scarpati, Paolo Conticini, Alessandro Siani and Miriam Leone at the 2011 “Nastri D’Argento” awarding night. This Saturday night at Taormina’s Teatro Antico, frontman Giuliano Sangiorgi and the rest of the group will receive this year’s film critics’ award as best original score for Michele Placido’s “Vallanzasca – Gli Angeli del Male”    . “This Nastro d’Argento award we will be receiving simply boosts our love for Italian cinema evermore” says frontman Sangiorgi on behalf of the whole band. Although the one written for Michele Placido’s latest movie is Negramaro’s first time round on a full movie score, the band’s relationship with cinema dates back to several other previous projects.

Before composing “Vallanzasca – Gli Angeli del Male” – also contained in the special edition of the band’s latest multi-platinum album “Casa 69” (Sugar) -  Negramaro had already worked with director Alessandro Dalatri on “La Febbre” - whose track “Solo per te” was twice awarded a “Nastro d’Argento” – with Giovanni Veronesi on his “Manuale d’Amore 2” while, Giuliano Sangiorgi personally worked with Daniele Gangemi on “Una Notte Blu Cobalto”, which won the 2010 Magna Grecia Film Festival award as best soundtrack.
