Erica Musci, better known as Erica Mou, is one of the most promising upcoming singer-songwriters on the current Italian scene. Born in Bisceglie in 1990, Erica has always written her own music which she has passionately combined with the appealing eloquence, the naïve grace and sensual irony that have become typical of her style. Erica is currently in her third year of Arts and Philosophy studies at the University of Bari, but over the past two years she has been running a fervid parallel activity as live performer on stages across the country.

Erica’s lucky year 2008-2009 awarded her with a series of prestigious prizes very dear to the Italian singer-songwriter scene.  Among these: the “Liri Festival” award, the “Canzone Italiana d’Autore” award, the “Arè Rock Festival” award, the “L’artista che non c’era” award, the “SIAE Best Lyrics award”, the “M.E.I. Best Indie Pop Revelation” award and a finalist position in the 2009 edition of “Musicultura”.

Erica Mou’s début album is “È”, out March 8th on Sugar label. “È” contains eleven autobiographical tracks, among which, “Oltre”,  which was chosen for the end credits scene to Roberta Torre’s motion picture “I baci mai dati”, acclaimed at the last Venice Film Festival and the only Italian picture included in the latest edition of Robert Redford’s Sundance Film Festival.  Furthermore “Oltre” is  also included in “Puglia Sounds – The Music System”, a collection of the best Puglia acts around on sale with La Repubblica’s hip XL magazine. Among the album’s other tracks, “La neve sul mare” was included in the double cd pack “La leva del cantautorale degli anni zero”, supervised by MEI and Club Tenco. The album also contains Erica’s cover of Fleetwood Mac’s renowned hit “Don’t Stop”, featuring as soundtrack to eni’s corporate advertising campaign on air since January 30th 2011.
