SIAE - Italian Authors and Publishers Association
| SIAE is the Italian Authors and Publishers Association. Its role as an institution is to protect copyrights. SIAE manages the works of its approximately 85,000 members, ensuring that appropriate compensation is paid to writers and publishers each time a work is used. It serves as a single point of contact for culture. In a world characterized by an increasingly dizzying circulation of works, SIAE acts on behalf of writers and producers in radio and television, record publishers, concert organizers, theatrical producers, and publishers to liaise with all those who spread culture at any level and through any means. Basically, it serves as go-between for anyone using original works in order to ensure payment of copyright to the creator of each piece. |

FPM - Federazione Against Music Piracy

The FPM was founded in January of 1996. The idea was promoted by the IFPI, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, an international agency headquartered in London, and FIMI, the Italian Musical Industry Federation, with the specific goal of fighting music piracy through awareness-raising and informational campaigns. With offices in Milan, the FPM monitors the market to identify cases of piracy, reporting them to the police and the courts, working collaboratively on technical aspects throughout the country, and ensuring adequate visibility to anti-piracy operations. FPM pairs these efforts with a string of advertising and communications initiatives intended for the distribution channel and to inform consumers about the risks and dangers of illegal products.
