Contemporary

The contemporary music section will find a home at the Ponchielli Theatre in Cremona beginning in 2009, with the Belgian Ictus Ensemble, featuring soprano Donatienne Michel Dansac, and the La Scala Theatre Academy Chamber Ensemble. Both groups have programs that focus on composers from our century, taking on the Baroque repertoire through transcriptions and original pieces.

For 2010, the Festival has commissioned new compositions from the best-known and most highly esteemed Italian composers, Giorgio Battistelli, Ivan Fedele and Luca Francesconi.

The design of the Contemporary section enjoyed contributions from Antonello Manacorda, Angela Cauzzi and Luisa Vinci.
