Fabio Properzi

A relatively recent arrival in the Italian music scene, the mastermind-voice-writer of Ameba4 and for the kinky atoms electronic project together with Roberto M., Fabio Properzi now produces, arrangesand composesfor some of the country's latest emerging bands. A writer for the Sugar label, he learned the ropes from Corrado Rustici and draws inspiration from the musical vision of Nigel Gondrich. The result is an original, high quality production approach with a keen eye for the future.

4MEB4 is a project by lyrics and music writer Fabio Properzi. In 2006 he began working with Roberto Matarrese, even though an embryonic form of 4MEB4 had already existed some years earlier. 4MEB4 moved in the shadows for years, composing and analyzing their music before revealing it to the world, in the spotlight of major events such as the 2006 Sanremo Festival, where they competed in the “Young acts” category with the song “Rido…forse mi sbaglio”, Arezzo Wave Love Festival and M.E.I.

In 2006, the Sugar label released their first, self-titled album. 4MEB4 deliver a sound that is a fusion between rock and electronica, interwoven with melodies rising in a crescendo that range from the delicate to the soul-wrenching. Their lyrics express an awareness of the communication failurebetween people which, once it degenerates, may lead to war, destroy the environment and, in general, alienate the individual.
