"Nena" is a group of five young people in their twenties from Bergamo: Matteo Foresti (guitar), Michele Clivati (guitar), Federico Laini (bass), Marcello Norrito (drums), and Serena Marinelli (vocals).

"Nena" is a band that just wants to have fun share its energy, determination and lust for life with those who listen to their music. This is exactly what the "Yeah" spirit means: having and sharing fun with music!

"Nena" express their personality best live, a personality that has earned them a place in a number of major national and European festivals (Coca-Cola Live@MTV, Give It a Name, Heineken Jammin' Festival, Cube Festival and Ypsigrock). The band has also been chosen is the supporting act in concerts by groups and artists such as The Cure, John Legend, Bluvertigo and The Styles.

The band's sound exudes a rock-steady feel, their lyrics are ironical and the melodies charged with simplicity and joy, with bare bones, crystal clear arrangements. Their style is midway between party pop and disco dance, with a fresh, positive vibe.

The influences that have contributed to creating the band's explosive musical cocktail are: the rhythms and carefree melodies of Block Party, Franz Ferdinand and the Wombats, Gwen Stefani for the sexy yet ironic twist in the vocals (Serena Marinelli), and a pinch of innocent references to punk surf.

In 2008, "Nena" won some of the most contests in the Italian music industry such as "Operazione Soundwave", the talent show aired on MTV and the Heineken Jammin' Contest, where they played on the same stage as Vasco Rossi and Marlene Kuntz.

They were also finalists in the competition for emerging acts organized by the City of Milan and the newspaper Corriere della Sera "Sun'n Sound" and won the national competition in the Ypsigrock Indie Rock Festival.
