Tony Canto is a Sicilian singer-songwriter, composer, arranger, and guitarist known for his pop, bossa nova, and samba sound, with a strong connection to Brazilian music. He has written songs for artists such as Nina Zilli, Raphael Gualazzi, Mario Venuti, Musica nuda, Simone Cristicchi, Tosca, Mannarino and Giovanni Allevi. He also boasts a collaboration for a pre-production with Zucchero, and his album "Moltiplicato" (2016) was also released in Brazil in an unprecedented Italian-Portuguese version for the prestigious label DubasMusica, titled "Moltiplicato Brasil". He has composed soundtracks for several films such as “Ci vuole un fisico” by Tamburini and “La Prova” by Ninni Bruschetta. Meanwhile, he continues to cultivate his relationship with Brazil through tours, albums, and collaborations: in 2020, he presented his album "Moltiplicato Brasil" with a tour in Brazil, achieving various successes and collaborating with major Brazilian artists, including Jaques Morelembaum, Leonardo Reis, Celso Fonseca, Chico Cesar, Marcelo Costa and Dadi Carvalho. Recently, he received Targa Tenco for “Miglior opera prima” (Best Debut Work) with the album “Curami l’anima” by Elisa Ridolfi, for his productions, arrangements, and songs written by him.
